Thank you very much for visiting our website of The Workshop on Oral Health
Care of the Inpatient. The aim of this workshop is to spread the importance
of oral health care for elderly inpatients.
July 25, 1997, when the words, glong-term care insuranceh had not yet been associated with the aging society, 17 volunteers comprised of dentists who specialize in hospital dentistry and dental hygienists gathered, and organized their first professional group meeting, gthe hospital-visit dental practice/ home-visit dental care (oral care) instructionh.
They mutually understood the importance to share and exchange information
related to oral health care of hospitalized elders, and conducted multiple
discussions in relation to the group such as the rules of conduct, administration
system, formal activation, development of members, possible activities
of enlightenment, and focused theme.
After itfs launch, gCareh was added to the name, gThe Workshop on Oral Health Care of the Inpatient: WOCIh had officially been formed.
Through each of our regular study meetings, which are held once every two
months, our group has grown more knowledgeable and enriched. Dentists,
dental hygienists, dieticians, nurses and other health professionals who
are passionate about elder oral health care have joined. The WOCI has also
expanded nationwide through itfs homepage.
Currently, we continue to provide content over many divergences such as,
the General Assembly and the annual academic meetings, the regular study
meetings are held once every two months. The regular meetings include lectures,
pathology of different oral care technology seminars, case study presentations,
new product exhibit briefings, hospital tours, transmission classes, nursing
skill seminars, dysphagia seminars, participation type study meetings,
and dental hygienist level up workshops.
